Oof I can see the logic in this but I fear a lot of the Dropout fanbase won't.
In their defense the 'prestige' of television ain't what it used to be and even if this a moment Dropout cast members have been dreaming of their whole careers this weirdly feels like a step down.

Right but they only exist because of hardware limitations. Limited Color palettes, low pixel count,low poly count- these are all 'frictions' artists are still imposing on themselves to create more interesting art.

I think the only aspect of this take that's hot is the fact that you're making it a blanket statement. Sprite art would technically fall under your definition here. If you look at other mediums you could include black and white film as a technical limitation.

you can enjoy a show, draw art of it, bond with others over it etc but you have to keep your head on straight. it's just a show. and if it becomes the most important thing in your life that's a major problem
