I naively hoped in 2020 that as a silver as a result of the pandemic, we’d adopt the norm many East Asian countries have of wearing a mask in public if you’re sick and coughing. But nope, everything has to be sorted by the big political polarization machine here.

Today's tea: Genmaicha.

Easily my favorite way to have green tea and maybe my favorite tea over all.
The toasted rice never fails to make me feel better.
Like a warm blanket and a good book on a cold rainy night.

Was feeling like a project after a lot of work, so I finally got gongfu tea brewing right.
It takes so many quick measurements and lots of cups, but it was quite nice with my sashimi.
Broke apart a new tea cake from @white2tea

For me, half the fun of buying from Chinese/Taiwanese tea dealers is that I often forget the purchase by the time it clears customs and one day a box of mysterious tea shows up at my doorstep.

I wish your tea ads were from a place of genuine tea love and spoke on the abuses in the I dusty you re trying to profit from. Oherwise, you have great content.

She's done more climate damage than millions of Republicans and hasn't used her massive wealth to off set the damage she has done.

Feels almost sacrilegious to make matcha when the wind chill is below zero, but I wanted to make use of my new bowl from Trader Joe's.

Been a month or three without cold green tea as I shifted into red (black) teas and genmaicha, but it's still as yummy, earthy, and bright as I remembered.

I wish social media got back to being more social and less media.

I miss people sharing their little food or pictures of their cats instead of their hot takes on Musk/Trump.
I'm guilty of this and think I will make a point to try to be the change I want to see in 2025.

Anyway here's my cacti.

Dune has the same plot as the Westminster Dog Show: After generations of careful breeding, we have produced this perfect little freak of nature and now it has behavioral issues

The more I read about the Department Of Government Efficiency the more it reads like big brother giving little brother an unplugged controller
Or maybe to fit the week like when grandmother asks you to bring a bag of ice for Thanksgiving.

Tonight's tea:

Margaret Hope's Moonlight Darjeeling first flush.
Definitely one of the best teas I've ever had and one of the most expensive.
This is a light floral version of the standard Darjeeling which feels almost like a grown-up version of silver needles white tea.
