Well she hasn't been my significant other for a long time, at the time we tried a couples therapy thing.

It was actually very helpful, just not in the way she wanted it to be. I would recommend giving it a try if you do want to make things work. A neutral space to communicate is helpful to anyone.

Both good options. I like to ask for a Sazerac which tells me if the bar can do more complex stuff. I've become fond of a Queen Park Swizzle for a fancy fruity drink.

That's a proper Mai Tai! The original didn't have juice, the fruity notes came from the types of rum used. I make them at home like that.

The fruit juice version works if you want something you can drink more of instead of sipping.

Same company yeah. We tried HF for a bit until I got tired of them messing up the address on the label and delivering it to a random house nearby every time.

We went to the "shoot a 50 cal" range in Las Vegas as part of a Bachelor party trip. I do have to say a full auto tommy gun is hilarious to fire. Lots of sparks and oddly balanced. Barely kept it on the paper.

The Lee-Enfield was more fun overall though.

Cross country moves are never dull

Horrifying memories of using one of these things when I was a little kid.

I don't like them because they're tricky to keep clean and you need to reload. I can fill up the spray bottle and go to town on an ear without having to move or refill.

The nurse was fast and blunt, at home I ease into it more slowly and that helps a lot.

Still not very fun.

My tinnitus is unfortunately also cranked up, so I get all kinds of distractions today. Oh well, at least the music I'm listening to sounds better now.

And I get a nice reminder that our lived experiences are individualized and impossible to convey with full fidelity to each other.

Today I had to do it again. I CAN HEAR EVERYTHING. When they say your brain compensates for sensory issues it's often presented as visual eye tricks that last a few seconds, this is being hyper aware of high pitched sounds all day long.

Running fingers though my hair. Chair creaks. A bird flying by

"Got it, little more" with some final flushes to get stragglers and I was done. Couldn't stand up for several minutes. Got an explanation of how to do it with a spray bottle at home if I need to do it again and sent on my way.

Body temp water in a clean spray bottle, set to "single stream". Gentle!

Head tilted sideways over a metal catch tray I actually heard the earwax plug thunk down into the tray. You don't really consider how much space there is in there until you have to empty it out when it's full. The plug was about half the size of my pinky fingertip, same diameter.

After a few seconds of the most unpleasant experience to take place within my ear canal it started working, bits of goo came out. The sound of the spraying started to change dramatically in pitch and volume, and I figured we were done. I started to lean back up..

Then she said "not quite done".
