I really feel this. I recently watched an interview Joe Bob Briggs did with Eli Roth where Roth said part of the appeal of the quirky Italian horror films is that they reflect a time before everything was boardroomed into a sphere, and that stuck with me. The imperfections inform the character.
I love Q, and I would say that the only part of Q that’s particularly schlocky is Q themselves (and that’s only because of production constraints on the effects). It’s a really well written and performed movie, Michael Moriarty’s great in it!
Like, I know most of these movies are like solid 3/10s on IMDb. I’m sure they’re arguably cynical in their own ways, but I admire them, dammit! They might be awkward and sloppy schlockjobs, but that doesn’t mean they’re not art!

Practicing some more with penciling. Smooth Bristol is probably my favorite paper, it picks up fine marks most other papers I’ve used don’t.

Added a photoshop body to a procreate head render. The head got the same amount of time as the rest of the body, around 6 hours for each (12 total).
I feel you on this. I used to be fairly active in the Godzilla community, right up until people argued to me that the Showa era was the nadir of the series due to its inherent camp.
People aren’t always serious people, even if they think they are.
It depends, but generally I go by focus— the head takes around 3 or 4 hours to detail, the neck and bust 2, each other body part is about an hour after that.
The one on the left was unusually dense, the head by itself took 9 hours.

Netflix is dropping its bid for Warner Bros., meaning Paramount’s bid is now unopposed. The presumption is that Warner Bros. will go to Paramount/Skydance.

Well, it certainly sounds like it matches the quality drop, even if it doesn’t retcon anything. I just read the synopsis, and it’s… pretty unreal, I’ll say that much. They’ve got some damn nerve.

I really wasn’t sure, I haven’t seen it in a long time, and the fact they redesigned the snakes to look more like their real-world counterparts cast some doubt in my mind!
This was originally the second of two comments— in the first I asked if you thought Boa vs Python was actually a crossover of Boa and Python, then I did a cursory search, found it was, felt like a moron, and deleted the first comment.
