IDK this doesn't strike me as the situation of a guy born on third base and thinks he hit a triple.

LinkedIn has become incredibly depressing. It seems that half the posts I see begin with "today is my last day at the Department of Justice . . . ."

Took 3 weeks but our on-site order from Portugal has arrived. In retrospect we may have gone overboard, but the Port was SO good.

And if you split, either get each attorney's time input into the court clock or GO FIRST. In a court that does not time separately, you can lose most of your time if the first lawyer isn't good at monitoring time on the fly.

Today we visited a castle in Lisbon but one of our traveling companions wasn't feeling well and did not go. As we left she did NOT say "have fun storming the castle" so obviously we cannot be friends any more.

Well that was one hell of a power outage. Fortunately we had enough port to get us through. Power is back on here in Porto. Gotta say, though, there were panicy vibes and rumors of 72 hours without power. Glad it's over.

Folks, Porto Portugal is a magical city. Very beautiful and the food and wine are wonderful (and inexpensive). And did I mention port? Lots and lots of port.

I want it on record that although I was a judge on many DOJ moots I am NOT the reason for this entry. But I have a few theories about who might have inspired it (and no, I am not telling).
