Destroy the lights to prevent the Mothmanauts from healing themselves. Headshots are effective, but be careful! The head can easily turn into a big nope! (every enemy has some nasty tricks like that, so better be prepared!)

Yes, the room is deliberately messy, dirty, and empty at the beginning of the game, but it will evolve several times throughout the story as the NPCs you gather there make the place their own. (so it will be more cozy :) )
