10.08.2025 10:31 โ ๐ 75 ๐ 14 ๐ฌ 3 ๐ 0A book with pink tentacles on the cover entitled The Midnight Project by Christy Climenhage sits on a table beside a mug of coffee with โMarchรฉ Wakefield Marketโ and a design of a farmer on it. A bowl of candies and fans of business cards are behind them.
This year I was invited to Author Day at my local farmerโs market. Itโs the first time Iโve participated in something like this. I had a great time.
Also: They gave all the authors coffee and it was delicious!
Writer friends:
What do you do with your author copies?
Right now, I just want to horde them like Smaug the dragon on his pile of goldโฆ

Iโve been so hoping to see one and itโs my first of the summer.
I love this titleโฆ

Also, as a Canadian, I can confirm โbear seasonโ is a thing.

Stunning: The Butterfly Nebula (NGC 6302) lies about 3800 light-years away in Scorpius.
Its glowing gas (formerly the star's outer layers) was expelled over 2200 years, forming a butterfly-shaped structure over two light-years wide!

Iโm currently reading A Shift in Time by Julie Czerneda, the latest just out in the Marrowdell series. So good!
Road mortality is one of the biggest threats to Canada's native, freshwater turtles, which are all considered at risk, so a volunteer-based Quebec program is aiming to reduce the hazard to the reptiles with roadside pickup for injured individuals. www.theweathernetwork.com/en/news/natu...

Large brown bird with dark eyes walks beside twelve half/grown babies and another adult on a gravel driveway bordered by underbrush.
Not sure why my bird watching app keeps insisting that wild turkeys are uncommon in my area.
This is my driveway.

Iโm especially happy that Iโve acquired a signed copy with sprayed edges. Itโs gorgeous. And I love his books.๐
I saw that model at a book signing once. Very concrete worldbuilding! Literally. And beautiful.

I love reading here about her transition to writing fantasy at first as a personal indulgence she kept private for a long time, and that she approached so respectfully and thoughtfully when she was writing the novels.
It was wild!
