Outside of Bluesky I mostly use Reddit, and also Facebook for "in person" stuff (local gaming groups, conventions and sales or trades).

I'm on Discord for a few content creators that I'm particularly loyal to, but I HATE Discord and will avoid using it if there's any other alternative.

I have literally just been on Google trying to find something like this!

We use a combination in one of my games; when we can, we do an in-person (well, online) session. In between we do text-based sessions, to set up the next in-person game.

Either D&D or Marvel Super Heroes, I can't remember now which one was first.

It's a really cool game, and a really fun world!

17.12.2025 10:43 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

I assume it's rated by the total weight of printed products.

16.12.2025 19:24 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

I mean, following this absolute shambles they probably aren't going to make any money from recommending games. So I guess there's that...

16.12.2025 19:23 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

There are lots of very valid criticisms of this, well, whatever-it-is so far but to add to the list: D&D scores well on purchase price because players can share the books. Which is true of all games, rendering the category entirely pointless.

16.12.2025 19:22 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 5    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

It's ironic that it gives the Marvel Universe RPG high marks for being unique while at the same time confusing it with the Marvel Multiverse RPG, one of the four other Marvel RPGs that we've had ๐Ÿคฃ

This is amazing, thank you!

In honour of spooky month, share a 4 word horror story that only someone in your profession would understand.

"What's that blue flash?"

I was 100% #TeamJeff this episode. I burnt my D&D books in protest and GUESS WHAT, WIZARDS? THEY PRODUCED HEAT ๐Ÿค”

I'm getting a "can't find this page" message when I follow that link, but this one works for me:

I'm in a very similar position. I only buy new TTRPG books if:
- I get rid of an old one first;
- It's directly relevant to a game I am currently running;
- I really want it;
- I don't really want it now, but think I might do in the future;
- It just looks cool, y'know?

Thinking about it, I ran the Magnus Archives RPG at the UK Games Expo this year as part of Roll Brittania's Zero-to-GM initiative, which now feels very prescient of me ๐Ÿคฃ

I'm a huge fan of Roll Brittania and Rusty Quill, so this made me very happy ๐Ÿ˜

Now to really make my year I need @montecookgames.com to make a Cypher System adaptation of Roll Brittania like they have done with all my other favourite shows ๐Ÿคฃ

Today we're delighted to welcome @rollbritannia.bsky.social to the #RQNetwork, a hilarious D&D podcast where six players sail the high seas of podcasting and pirate their way through puzzles, monsters and innuendo traps!

All my favourite shows are now on Rusty Quill. I'm starting to doubt that there even _is_ anywhere else.

I'm not sure it's been much help TBH. If anything, it's only made the problem worse ๐Ÿคฃ

Cypher: Faster. Easier. And Even Better! The award-winning TTRPG perfect for forging the stories YOU want to play. Lightning-quick character generation. Super easy to GM. Unique and imaginative campaigns. And all the flexibility, story focus...

I've gone all-in on this and, to be honest, I don't even really like the proposed chages to the way wounds work. I think it might be time to accept that I have an MCG addiction...

I'm very new to convention GMing, so it'd be a no from me. I already worry enough about getting the timing right without having to fold in a latecomer!

21.09.2025 08:39 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 3    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

The first sci-fi game I ever ran used GURPS, back in the late 80s/early 90s. I haven't played it in absolutely ages, but I will sometimes use some of the sourcebooks for background reading, they were excellent.

I have one friend like this. A lot of his enjoyment comes from knowing the system really well and being able to play with the intricacies of the rules, and he does really enjoy it. As a result, he doesn't have any interest in playing other TTRPGs.

05.09.2025 21:02 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

This is honestly the most accurate thing I've ever seen.

I've got a friend who's a LOTR fan and has just got into TTRPGs and my first thought was "ooh maybe I finally get to play The One Ring?" ๐Ÿคฃ

03.09.2025 18:38 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

I actually wouldn't even need to actually play it, if I enjoyed reading it enough. Which is disturbing now that I see it written down ๐Ÿคฃ

03.09.2025 17:13 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 2    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 1

I don't think I ever realised that Virgin carried RPGs! Mind you, our local modelling and hobby shop had a really good selection so maybe it just never occurred to me to look.

03.09.2025 17:12 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

To be fair I almost forgot too. I was looking around my room for inspiration and the three shelves of 40k RPGs reminded me ๐Ÿคฃ

03.09.2025 08:16 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

That's a difficult question! In no particular order, I think:

- Warhammer 40K.
- Shadowrun 1-3E.
- Iron Kingdoms (pre-Requiem).
- Ptolus.
- Nights Black Agents/Conspiracy X/Delta Green (I find it hard to choose which one, I just love that "modern world but with supernatural conspiracies" vibe).
