This was the sunrise yesterday morning off Jackson’s Point on Lake Simcoe. A cold (-20 C) but beautiful way to start the day.

I can’t say any of the reactions I’ve seen from that debacle of a press conference were over the top.

As a Bills fan I’m not feeling good about the McDermott firing. Especially keeping Beane. I feel like theirs more blame on Beane.

I have this magic way of making the box of Raisin Bran turn into regular Bran Flakes. I pour the first bowl for myself, leave the box on the counter, my kids discover the box. Poof, I now have a box of Bran Flakes.

Happy Christmas Eve!

Three children stand outdoors in a snowy winter setting, bundled up in heavy coats, scarves, hats, and gloves. From left to right: the first child wears large round glasses, a brown pom-pom hat, plaid coat, and holds books; the second child wears goggles on their head, a dark coat with fur collar, and has an open-mouthed expression; the third child wears a striped knit hat, plaid coat, scarf, and holds stacked books while making a surprised face. Bare trees and snow are visible in the blurred background.

A Christmas Story is a must-watch for many during the Christmas season.
While the film was set in Indiana, there are many Canadian connections associated with the film, from the actors to filming locations.
This is the story!

No surprise: new analysis shows that heat pumps can deliver excellent performance even in older buildings with no meaningful correlation between building age & heat pump efficiency.

This is in line with my own experience of having a heat pump in a 1880 Victorian home with only modest insulation.

The Voith-Schneider Propeller is a vertical-axis marine drive whose spinning blades change pitch continuously, letting a ship generate instant thrust in any direction, like a helicopter rotor underwater. Super-maneuverable, perfect for tugs and ferries.
