some ppl go to ebay for things they think are cheaper as sometimes there's low or free shipping but imo a lotta sellers inflate prices greatly so I've found that proxy shopping, even with the shipping prices, is cheaper in the end

yuh. unfort all international shipping's gonna defo cost some but depending on what you get, I would say smaller ish items is prolly around 30-40 bucks if they're not insanely heavy which is pretty typical. usually I order several items at a time to make the shipping worth it

proxy sites like fromjapan are your friend 👍 that's where I've gotten most of my stuff if you can find the proper jp search terms. plus there's a lot of things that end up jp exclusive so is really the only place to land certain merch like for example most rgg plushies being in UFO catchers

yeah it's basically a skill in of itself to sorta learn the feel of what's official and what ain't. I tend to spend some hours researching stuff to see if it's legit. I have a few rgg jewelry pieces that have like a single article of info from years ago in japanese so it can get p tough lmao

yuh. I'm like a crazy person lmao so I like to collect official things so I was willing to pay the price for it being a rarer item and I'm in the US too. the sheer size makes it expensive but my other standees could be folded smaller which made the shipping much cheaper plus they were US based

tbh if you're looking for a standee, I rec comm'ing a 3D artist to create a custom transparent render then taking that image to a more local company that can print out standees. I have 2 standees I got in this method which was cheaper, good quality and you can support an artist 💪

so this guy's a bit out there as it was originally a 1st place prize in a lottery some months ago. it happened to be listed on suruga-ya (jp secondhard store) so I snapped him up for about 200$. then shipping was 400$ ish so not quite a purchase for the faint of heart haha
