As Trump actively seeks to erase our history, including removing exhibits on slavery, it is more important than ever that we recognize Black History Month. We must honor both the tremendous struggles that African Americans have faced and the extraordinary contributions they have made to our country.

Last July, Rep. Casten and I led an effort to investigate Ed Martin. Six months later, we learned he was leaking secrets about Trump’s opponents in active cases.

The rule of law must return to the DOJ. Ed Martin must resign and be criminally investigated.

Opinion | The Republican Party’s NPC Problem — and Ours

America did not elect us to Congress to be NPCs. But Congressional Republicans continue to refuse to show any free will or independent thought, simply doing whatever Trump wants.

It’s long past time that my GOP colleagues stood up and honored their oaths to defend the Constitution.

They claimed Alex Pretti was brandishing a deadly weapon because to them, a camera recording clear evidence of ICE crimes is just that.

I’ll keep it simple. ICE agents do not enjoy “absolute immunity” and those who commit violent crimes will be prosecuted. We will enforce the rule of law.

I went to ICE headquarters yesterday to demand accountability. No one is above the law, and every single person who has been assaulted by an ICE agent deserves justice.
 
Our next steps are clear. No more funding for ICE. Investigations must begin. Kristi Noem must be removed.

The murders of Alex Pretti and Renee Good were the inevitable result of a culture of violence and lawlessness at DHS.

Our taxpayer dollars should not fund an illegal campaign of violence against our own people. No one, including ICE agents, is above the law.

Last night we honored the life of Alex Pretti. Alex lived a life of service as a VA nurse and protector of his community.

His last action was protecting a woman.

His last words were “Are you OK?”

May his life inspire us all to demand justice.

We won’t accept the criminalization of journalism. We won’t accept intimidation. We won’t accept the silencing of a free press.

The arrest of journalist Don Lemon is a blatant assault on the First Amendment.

The Trump administration continues to target critics and journalists instead of upholding the Constitution and delivering real justice.

FBI seizing ballots and election records from a Georgia election office isn’t normal law enforcement. Nor is it normal for the Director of National Intelligence to be involved.

If the DOJ can be used to relitigate a settled election, it can be weaponized in every future one. This is not democracy.

Withholding social service funding from blue states to score political points is an abuse of power.

This is what authoritarianism looks like in practice. Targeting political opponents. Punishing communities. And using children and families as leverage.

Weaponizing aid is cruel and un-American.

Alex Pretti was a kindhearted soul who cared deeply for his family and friends and the American veterans whom he cared for as an ICU nurse at the Minneapolis VA hospital.

Stop the spin and the horrific lies about him. Let his family grieve in peace.

Even as ICE agents are murdering Americans in our streets, Sec. Noem is blocking over $1B in lifesaving FEMA funds directed to Blue states.

This illegal and partisan action is leaving millions of Americans vulnerable to floods and fires and illustrates once again why Kristi Noem must be impeached.

Political violence is never acceptable. What happened to Reps. Frost and Omar this week is deeply disturbing, and I’m relieved they are both safe.

But Trump mocking or ignoring violence against his political critics is un-American and evil.
 
Intimidation and attacks have no place in our society.

Today, on Holocaust Remembrance Day, we remember the 6 million Jews who were murdered by the Nazi regime.

We must never forget this and fight to ensure that hate on this scale never happens again. Never again.

Last year, I asked DHS basic questions about their hiring, including whether any new hires had ties to domestic extremism. They still won’t respond.

So the question is simple: Who are these people, and why won’t DHS give the public answers?

Oversight is our constitutional duty.

What we witnessed was the execution of a civilian bystander by masked government agents.

Not self-defense. Not law enforcement. Murder.

Everyone responsible will face criminal charges. There will be accountability.

In the meantime, get the fuck out of MN and start following the law.

ICE just shot and killed another civilian at point blank. Predictably, DHS is already claiming this was self-defense, despite clear video evidence to the contrary.
 
I know this is exhausting but we must continue demanding justice. The murderers and their enablers WILL be held accountable.

You cannot claim to “stand with the Iranian people” while deporting them back to an authoritarian regime that kills dissidents and executes LGBTQ individuals.

We warned DHS and State months ago. Silence. Now, as Iranians are being killed and detained for demanding freedom, this is unconscionable.

5-year-olds detained. People murdered in DHS custody. Orders to break into people’s homes without warrants. And more.

ICE is systematically violating the law with no accountability.

Today, I’m voting hell no on the bill to fund ICE. Enough is enough.

Women, not politicians, should make their own healthcare decisions. As a father and husband, I believe deeply in that principle, and I remain fully committed to restoring and protecting life-saving care nationwide.

53 years after Roe v. Wade, Trump and Republicans have stripped millions of women of their fundamental right to reproductive freedom.

This week marks 3 years since the Monterey Park and Half Moon Bay mass shootings. 18 lives were lost on these days, 16 of them members of our Asian American community. AANHPI communities deserve to celebrate their culture in safety and peace. We honor the victims and recommit to ending gun violence.

Trump and I both went to Wharton, but unlike him I went to class.

Soaring costs are a direct result of Trump’s economically illiterate policies: tariffs, killing clean energy, and slashing Medicaid/ACA to fund billionaire tax breaks.

Working families are paying the price.
