Sanders will spend Saturday evening at Brooklyn College September 3, 2025 Contact: press@berniesanders.com BROOKLYN, N.Y. - Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) is heading to Brooklyn this weekend, where he will hold a town hall with mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani as part of his Fighting Oligarchy tour. The event comes on the heels of last weekend's swing through New Hampshire and Maine, where Sanders was joined by working class candidates Troy Jackson, who is running for Governor of Maine, and Graham Platner, who recently announced his bid to unseat Senator Susan Collins. "At a time of massive and growing income and wealth inequality, we are building a strong grassroots movement to take on the billionaire class and corporate greed, said Sanders. "The oligarchs are prepared to undermine democracy and spend tens of millions of dollars to buy elections. But candidates who stand boldly with the working class can - and will - beat them. When we stand together we can defeat authoritarianism and create an economy that works for all our people, not just the privileged few."

A good discussion.
03.05.2025 17:04 β π 195 π 32 π¬ 19 π 4We have hired a handful of local organizers on the ground in four states.
There's much more to come soon. We're only getting started with our organizing and candidate recruitment plans. Stay tuned. /6
We followed up with the lists to ask they: 1) contact their rep and seek a townhall meeting, 2) ask their rep to say no to Medicaid cuts and tax cuts for the rich.
Also engaging lists on current state legislative fights around collective bargaining, repro rights and other issues. /5
13 of the 16 stops have been in Republican-held congressional districts.
254,931Β people have come out across elevenΒ states we have visited so far. /4
We have given speaking slots at rallies to:
8 members of Congress
6 national Union presidents
15 local Union leaders
7 current candidates for office (and plenty more who are thinking about it) /3
32% of attendees are NOT registered Democrats and more than 7% of attendees ARE registered Republicans.
42% of attendees are not college graduates -- a group Democrats have been increasingly losing ground with. /2
NEW: Here's a thread of some stuff you didn't know about Bernie's Fight Oligarchy tour...but you should. 16 stops in, here's what I'll share:
66.8 percent of the signups we have received are NEW to the Bernie list. 𧡠/1
Faiz Shakir: If you look at the stats in California, in the Central Valley, there are a couple thousand people who are working at Tesla, owned by the richest person in the world on Medicaid. And these are the people who they want to cut health care from.

If people have ideas of how @BernieSanders can be helpful in building a real working class movement in this country, I welcome your ideas. Email me at Faiz at berniesanders.com
No bad ideas in a brainstorm! I welcome whatever you got. Note: I will not be able to respond to but I will read it
I think we too often get in the mindset that the only time to mobilize is when there is an election. Yes. But also mobilize when the policy stakes are so high and we can still do something about it.
