I’m excited to represent @desmos.com at the @nctm.org #NCTMINDY26 Spring Conference, February 11-13, in Indianapolis!
It's always a pleasure to talk math with educators, and I get the added bonus of sharing about Desmos & the power of dynamic geometry software. nctm.org/indianapolis2026

Look like you missed your graph lesson again!

I had some fun recreating this visual, with some added interactive elements, in @desmos.com www.desmos.com/calculator/m... #mathsky
Naturally, I couldn't resist recreating this visualization in @desmos.com. It was a lot of fun chatting with Mike and the other attendees after the session, talking about my go-to Desmos strategies and the pros and cons of different instructional resources.

One of the highlights of OCTM this past week was attending Mike Browne's session on "Introducing Students to Calculus" where he shared this delightful visual that he constructed of unwrapping the area of a circle into a triangle. #octmconnects #ohioctm
It was a quick overview session introducing the tool, but you can find my agenda with links to other resources here: bit.ly/DesmosNCTM25...
It’s a great feature request! Will be bringing that one back to the team.
Prompted by some fun discussions during the session, I’ve been playing around with different strategies for “tracing a point” in Desmos: www.desmos.com/geometry/ggm...

It was a great way to wrap up the @nctm.org Annual Meeting presenting on Geometry in @desmos.com. Looking forward to sharing again next week back in Ohio at OCTM!
(For those curious, the slide in the picture was not about Geometry…we got off on a tangent looking at some example graphs)
Excited to head to Atlanta next week for the @nctm.org Annual Meeting!
I'll be representing @desmos.com with a session on dynamic geometry software on Saturday. I’m putting together my agenda of sessions to attend — any recommendations? #iteachmath
Oh yea, definitely some different on-ramps depending on where kids are coming into it. Could be converted into smaller bite-size triangles to re-create using rectangular coordinates to start, but you know what would work best for your students. (Updated graph: www.desmos.com/calculator/h...)
Love this concept, and the 3D printing potential is amazing. Maybe experiment with starting with triangle polygons plotted using different points, but then rotating them into a pattern?

Well that's a walk down memory lane.
Lovely.
#MathArt project in calculus class today. Students generated "Reimondrian" art in @desmos.com. (Inspired by @mathzorro.bsky.social). Reimondrian is a mash up of Reimann sums and Piet Mondrian art. Some very creative students. #ITeachMath #MathsToday
That was great to see! I was pulling for you, along with the rest of the Toffee supporters apparently. (from www.reddit.com/r/Everton/co...)
I'm not going to venture to solve it directly, but this made me recall this visualization I had worked up at some point: www.desmos.com/3d/7239a9576c
Loving these trippy geometric patterns, and couldn't resist recreating these delightful squircles in @desmos.com www.desmos.com/calculator/p...
Will this answer surprise you? Or is it intuitive?

Enjoyed re-creating this visual in the @desmos.com Geometry tool: www.desmos.com/geometry/lx7... #mathsky
Looks like a great option to give the 3D printer a spin!
It's here.✨
Head to desmos.com/art to learn more, and be sure to submit your graphs by January 15th, 2025!

Love this visual. You could do a gradual reveal using a slider, or toggle over to translucent surfaces (I know, not solids yet 🙃) to see through the outer cylinders.
So exciting - congrats, Jenny!
Some great strategies here for getting started with #Desmos #Geometry @desmos.bsky.social #MathSky #iTeachMath
Right? Loved the elegance of it.
Fun one to visualize in #Desmos #Geometry - Given a regular n-gon inscribed in a unit circle, the product of the chords from one vertex of the polygon to all the others is equal to n. www.desmos.com/geometry/pb3...

Totally agree on the GIFs. Delightful graphs, though!
Some therapeutic spirals in #Desmos 3D.
