sometimes, i'll stumble across a clip of the engdub version on youtube and despite it being an episode i've already seen, it'll be brand new information to me. because i'll only have realised while watching said clip that i didn't actually understand what i read in the subs the first time round

slightly related but is it just me or are netflix's subs for the apothecary diaries weird as hell? like sometimes the sentence structure is so weird that i find myself constantly having to reread. especially annoying when it happens during denouements bc those are supposed to be the explainey bits!

i'll be honest at this point (early season 2 so spoilers), i'm not actually even all that sure anymore who the fuck he is bc new information keeps contradicting old information and literally all of it is either speculation on maomao's part or jinshi possibly having incomplete info about his own past

i know it's anime and i know it's fanservice and it know it's supposed to hint at his true identity but nothing has disappointed me more than jinshi being ripped as fuck

on the upside, i finally did it. there is enough wall space for the robot vacuum and i undestroyed my room after nuking it to refeng its shui to make space for said robot vacuum

while cleaning yesterday, i found a plastic bag that was so old and sun-damaged that i was literally crumbling. every time i nudged it wrong, it would flake off into shreds in my hands. i think i can still feel plastic in my lungs from my incomprehensible decision to not mask up

i just finished season 1 and i really recommend it! it's so engaging!
