This week I recommitted to my writing project. I’ve been going to cafés to support myself through the emotionally taxing parts. In two different cafés the songs from the playlist started playing.

You don’t gotta believe what I believe but you can’t tell me I’m wrong.

On the day of my mother’s death I made a playlist of all her favorite songs. A lot of disco, 80s and 90s r&b. I listened so much that summer. Over and over.
