Canada needs better passenger rail well before 2039, and the public deserves an explanation of why the co-development phase is expected to cost billions.

One long-term thing Canada can do to reaffirm its sovereignty in the face of our bully neighbor and to start decoupling from the US in terms of trade is to stop adapting US technical standards and start using international or EU one (which is often the same thing).
