I really enjoyed writing my first article at @backheeled.com alongside @joeclowery.bsky.social! If you're interested in cities that don't get much attention as valuable US soccer markets, check it out! I added a fun surprise pick at the end too!

Donovan Brazier's come back win streak should be halted at the #DiamondLeague when Wanyonyi and Arop face each other in what presumes to be another extremely fast 800 this season.

Noah Lyles has established himself as the man to beat in the 100, however he has yet to run a 100 this year and is coming up against a world-class field in London which just might add a little bit of uncertainty to the result today.
Definitely check out this scouting and optimization app that Drew and I created. It’s a new analytical approach to the balance between talent and costs that scouting departments constantly balance between. We are looking for feedback from people like you!
Great to work with you Drew, excited for future versions to come!

Happy to answer any questions and debate!
However, given Jones' legacy, Aspinall's win streak, and the fact that the win % of late declining heavyweights is just over 40%, you can understand Jones' reluctancy to take the fight.
Should the Jon Jones and Tom Aspinall fight happen? The data says YES. Despite Jones' age at 37, heavyweight athletes (circled in red) are one of the top four most active groups in the UFC!
Thanks I appreciate it. There’s more to come so stay tuned!
Also looked up Golden for you, he just missed out on the cutoff with a 58% career win % at Florida but his transfer differential (actual - expected) is good at -0.24. I didn't include the current season, because the portal hadn't finished at the time of writing.
Hey Malik, thanks for the comment! I think the absence of data is always going to be a big issue in sports and based on that, I would agree that this is probably more exploratory but you can observe a trend.

Best college coaches at retaining talent. Well-established coaches like Izzo, Hurley, and Self standout here as well as rising coaches like May, Lutz, and DeVries.
Graphic inspired by: @crumpledjumper.bsky.social who has some pretty amazing vizzes.

Ever wondered about who the next great basketball coaches are? I took a stab at evaluating coaches using the transfer portal and came to a very interesting shortlist of guys I believe can take the next step.
As always, would love to hear your thoughts and questions!
For my first article on BlueSky, I looked into the potential effect the transfer portal can have on coaching, particularly on what's often seen as the intangible side of coaching. Interested? Check it out below!
