Nats and fruit flies are really hard to catch and release. You could try a mosquito trap or an insect vacuum to try catching them alive.

Check the hardware or grocery store in the insect area. You can usually find a sticky trap that will help get rid of gnats and flys.
The Nova option would be to clear your counters and spray the kitchen down with Raid and stay out of the area for around 30 mins.

If you want to see how you do getting a tattoo, maybe get a paw print on your chest or arm. A 4 inch area would look good but not be too big that you need hours to get it done. My first tattoo was a paw print with a wolf looking out on my shoulder blade.
