Typically check out board games, then clearance, then manga / RPG stuff, possibly checking out Legos and other sections if I'm looking for something in particular. Usually get some manga, sometimes a puzzle book or a game if I find a good deal in clearance.

I think I run a copy in Liesa, or I keep meaning to buy a copy but forget or do buy a copy but then lose track of it before I remember to add it.

Favorite bit was when a major villain is starting to lose, so she opens a portal and "steps through it." Verified with DM that it counted as movement, Woofles hit her with Stand Still (kinda like Sentinel), she couldn't make a DC 35 save, then Syrup hit her with Dimensional Anchor to stop teleports.

He honestly was, one character changed their god to Woofles after he soloed an encounter because everyone else forgot how to roll above 10 for a while.

Plus eventually we got magic items that let our animal companions take class levels, so I made him a Barkbarian.

As I said, I disagree with the 2brid part (although if it's the price for fixing regular hybrid it's fine). Honestly Phy mana (at least the first run) is kinda what everyone seems to THINK hybrid is, i.e. they designed it as if it was G AND 2 life instead of G OR 2 life.

Phyrexian mana is meant to be that color of mana but evil, they just had a collective mental misstep and forgot that it had a built in way to not pay for it (and if it's "mana symbols counts as any combination of their colors", colorless is not a color). But honestly fuck it, try rule zeroing it.

The point isn't that it should work the same other formats, the point is that it's meant to be either or and EDH has an entire rule that was created solely to treat cards as colors other than their in game ones to better match the vibes. Although the rule I use still counts 2brid as whatever color.

I was being a bit silly, the point was even if people continue to falsely assume they're stapled to each other for some reason, WotC can just fix hybrid without touching Phyrexian mana, it's not all or nothing.

I mean, from a vibes standpoint Phyrexian is more like a property applied to mana, like Snow. And no one would argue Invigorate isn't green just because it has an alternate cost. Plus they can always be like "Even if it's a theoretically similar situation, literally nobody wants this so no."

Agreed, honestly I say they should at a minimum fix the hybrid rules tentatively with plans to reevaluate after a year or something and if people are still insistent you shouldn't be allowed to play Disenchant in monowhite because Naturalize exists, they can break em again.

I'd be more concerned about them banning Propaganda effects, since apparently the metric everyone uses for good game design is whether or not a hypothetical new player would understand its interaction with Deathrite Shaman :P

Obvious disclaimer that if the group is having fun you can do whatever, but man does it suck trying to explain why you don't wanna heal somebody because they're just gonna drop before they get a turn again and waste limited healing that could be used on somebody who did the bare minimum.

If it passes the "Come on, buddy..." test it's fine, and depending on the system often preferable to max-minning. Like "My Wizard has to have 8 Int and 6 Con and only know utility spells because of backstory."

I think people have figured out that she's a rare example of having flavor text at the top of the text box, but not sure they realize how good she is with clues yet. Turning every clue into an Opt adds up really quickly.

It should definitely be played more, but technically sometimes it does have a chance to do nothing.

Ward. It's easy to miss in a complicated board state and then you either have to be like "UHM NO YOU ALREADY TOUCHED THE PIECE" in a zero stakes casual game, or let them redo the action when it's like "Okay, but that was kind of the point of the Ward."

Picked up the precon, only change I made was swapping Taurean Mauler for Guided Passage, so far it's been pretty good at taking over games
