There is a very widespread lack of understanding of the physics (F=ma) of crashes and how much force a body can be exposed to without breaking.
Ever bigger cars x lack of respect for speed limits is catastrophic for people crossing the road or riding a bike.
We did it in Manchester.
Now let's do it in Bradford.
Let's turn #Bradford Green.

🟢 Hannah Spencer’s victory in Gorton and Denton shows that change is possible.
🔄 People across Bradford are desperate for that same change.
✅️ In May’s local elections, choose real change. Vote Green.

💬 Cllr @greenmattbfd.bsky.social: “Residents in Holme Wood have told us that they want safer roads across the estate, especially for families and young people. These new crossings and traffic-calming measures are designed to slow vehicles down and give people safer places to cross."

🚮 Green councillor @greenmattbfd.bsky.social is once again pressing for action on fly-tipping.
💬 He said: "Black Carr Woods and the Tong and Fulneck Valley should be protected, not treated as dumping grounds."

People wonder why town and city centres are struggling, then crap like this is approved. M&S opening in a tin shed, less than 2 years after closing it's city centre store.
Cheap tin sheds.
Low rates and rent.
No thought given to anyone not in a car.
Progress?

♻️ I've been out checking #flytipping hotspots across #TongWard today.
📸 I’ve reported several sites and will continue pushing for stronger enforcement and new covert cameras.
⚠️ Local people deserve action ... not more excuses from #Bradford Council.
@bradfordgreens.bsky.social
In September peak rail fares were scrapped for good.
The success is already clear to see.
📉 New figures show bus use across #WestYorkshire has fallen again.
⏳ While the Labour Mayor is blaming everyone else, the reality is bus services in #Bradford are getting worse right now.
📣 Bus users need action now, not warm words about improvements that are years away. 👇
📮 Cllr @greenmattbfd.bsky.social: "Taking away the only Post Office without warning or replacement is nothing short of negligent. Residents deserve better than bland emails and empty assurances."

🎄 At last night’s @bradfordcouncil.bsky.social meeting, #Bradford Conservatives brought forward a proposal to bring #Christmas Cheer ... by cutting Council Tax Support for the most vulnerable in our district ...
🗣️ I was lost for words. Luckily I had a poem prepared ...
#WealthTaxNow
Hahaha. You missed my tour! You could have talked about what it was like in the city centre for disabled people!
🥀 "It fails to take responsibility for what it can and should be doing right now."
🧨 Cllr @greenmattbfd.bsky.social takes #Bradford's Labour-run council to task over its lack of action on nuisance fireworks.
🚆 After some reflection, I am stepping back from my national role as Green Party #Transport spokesperson.
🚌 It’s been a privilege raising transport inequality, calling for better buses & helping shape HS2 policy.
💚 But for now, I want to prioritise my work in #Bradford and Tong Ward.
Promoted by P. Worsnop on behalf of M. Edwards at 7 Farfield Road, Bradford, BD18 4QP.
Our transport spokesperson @greenmattbfd.bsky.social :
"Bradford and our district need NPR to deliver the economic boost we have been promised for years.
"Every delay sends a message that our communities are being treated as an afterthought compared with London and the South East."
👏👏👏
"Free bus travel for under-22s only scratches the surface. London’s public transport fares remain among the highest in Europe, and no one, no matter their age should have to choose between paying rent or tapping their Oyster."

As long as people are stuck in car dependency without good public transport, those who should not be behind a wheel will be forced to resist rules to restrict them.
Ending road death MUST mean green transport ££ and lower speeds, car sizes and traffic, not just action on drivers.
🤦♂️ If it doesn't have tracks, it's not a tram.
A "trackless tram" is an expensive bus.
Great day in Bradford last week with our work experience student, Adam for the @local.gov.uk City Regions Board. So much going on for the City of Culture year, and a chance to catch up with @greenmattbfd.bsky.social @bradford2025.co.uk
🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️ Really proud of see the #Pride and #TransPride flying in front of #Bradford City Hall today.
With everything the LGBTQIA+ (and especially the trans community) are facing at the moment, this is a powerful statement from @bradfordcouncil.bsky.social
🟢 We have big plans for the local elections in 2026, and we are looking for people to stand as a Green Party councillor.
💪 You don’t need previous political experience - just a commitment to representing the community, Green values and a drive to make a real difference.

What would you choose to spend public funding on?
The Lower Thames Crossing?
or
20 - 50 rail re-openings (£300m each*)?
