I am closely monitoring the ongoing military operations in Iran. International military actions have a direct and profound impact on Maryland’s families and communities.

I served in Afghanistan and I’ve seen who pays the price when Washington rushes into conflict.

Congress must return immediately and vote to put an end to this war.

Every Senator should be on the recordβ€”the American people deserve to know which of their leaders supports another potentially bloody and costly war in the Middle East.

No war with Iran.

New and recent titles from @meduzaproject.bsky.social just arrived in the bookstore, including books by Zygar, Dolin, and others! Call it what you will, tamizdat, exile press, dictatorships can try to ban ideas, but ideas are like water, slipping through their grasp. #freadom

Supporting independent Belarusian publishers, great titles from Miane Niama and Gutenberg! And more copies of @iamangiebowieno.bsky.social 's prize nominated book Evridka! Freedom to read, freedom of the press, these are things indie bookstores stand for. No matter the language #Belarus

Fact check: The tariffs aren't paid for by foreign countries like Trump just claimed.

They are paid for by Americans, and foreign countries are bullied into doing Trump and his cronies favors to get out of them.

This grifter in chief is full of it!

Trump stole $1,700 from the average American family with his illegal tariff tax. It’s been 30 minutes. He hasn’t once mentioned how he is going to pay back your hard-earned money.

And fantastic scenes in Georgia tonight.

1000s took to the streets of Tbilisi again (Day 454), with the theme support for Ukraine, including a rousing rendition of "Oi u luzi chervona kalyna" (Oh, the Red Viburnum in the Meadow)

Four years ago, we were scrubbing, painting, and getting ready to move the bookstore to our new location - and we raised the Ukrainian flag in solidarity. The flag is still here, and we are still here. #StandWithUkraine

In a normal, actual functioning democracy, he'd be forced to resign tonight. In our system, there will be absolutely no consequences.

I'll be on MSNOW at 330 pm ET, talking war in Iran - and Nazis in America. I'm sure it won't be controversial.

In addition, there are many great examples from Soviet history. To that end, my forthcoming book (out next week in Europe) covers the weaponization of food by Russia today through the lens of past famines, particularly the Famine of 1946-47 which also impacts the examples Boller mentions here.

Yeah, see, this is what we need to determine a nation's economic policies: A sense of how well our leader slept, how he woke, what he feels now, who has made him happy or unhappy or who has talked to him last. Businesses, industries, entire economic sectors should plan accordingly.

Looks like Lil' Marco needs a history lesson. When it comes to supporting freedom in Hungary, the US has always been on the correct side. A reminder from Lafayette Park here in New Orleans.

From @theathletic.com: Alysa Liu didn’t return to figure skating for medals. But for personal fulfillment. A display of empowerment. She became a legend because of that story and returned U.S. women’s figure skating to glory.

Someone has sure already made this observation but the fact they can convert all those empty warehouses into prison camps means they could have converted them into housing, community centers, job training centers or, hell, libraries or schools all along. It’s always a matter of will not resources.

I think we are going to have a Democratic-controlled Senate.

And all we will need for the leadership of that Democratic Senate to do is hold actual, real, impeachment trials.

As the Constitution requires.

Not the bullshit fake trials like the ones that the Senate held in 2020 and 2021...

... Real trials of charges against Bondi and Noem and Vance and Trump. With real evidence and witnesses.

Make clear to that jury of 100 that the world will forever remember their votes and whether they were faithful to the Constitution they've sworn to uphold.

Many people in South Africa, where Elon is from, died to create a genuinely multiracial polity. They were killed by people who thought like Elon.

The people who thought like Elon also lost. Seems their β€œcommon culture” of white supremacy wasn’t enough.
