Based on everything & Patreon's refusal to listen to the few of us creators that actively complained about it, we're probably going to lose again and the Subscription Model will likely be forced onto us all regardless.

We fought against this in several years ago and they walked it back, but mentioned they would eventually move towards it in a 2017 blog post. We fought against it last year (and technically lost, but were given extra time), and it's happening again. Apple is just a convenient excuse.

Do not purchase a membership on iOS because those fees ARE absolutely real and do suck, but they are the least important issue about the recent ongoings with Patreon and the iOS app. The subscription model forced onto all creators and users is THE problem, and Patreon is using Apple as a scapegoat.

Haven't seen it talked about in a while, so unfriendly but necessary reminder that Patreon is not being forced by Apple to do anything.
