27.01.2025 15:15 โ ๐ 12 ๐ 2 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0We have another paper on autistic people without ID (Irvine et al. 2024). Different methods were needed & in general few qual studies communicate directly with ppl with ID which was super important to me to be doing. AKA it's across spectrum not related to intellectual ability.

@craeioe.bsky.social
soon for a summary of our findings about the perceptual experiences of both groups... I'm slightly too excited & so so thankful to everyone involved especially
@annaremington.bsky.social
and the consultants with lived experience ๐
Guided by autistic people with LD and ppl with WS we used a range of adaptations such as this research passport osf.io/wq43f/ ...but a lot of things were purely being flexible, they weren't complex or high cost.

for allowing me to do this work & being 100% behind importance of adapting research methods to include #autistic people with LD & people with #WilliamsSyndrome.

(Essentially they want me to evidence knowledge of current policy and research gaps then design a study for that question. But I'm stuck on the fact policy doesn't exist in a functioning MH system!!!)

I love an evidence base but I just am stuck on the fact that the care isn't getting delivered! Look at removal of CPA it hasn't 'levelled up care'. But I can't go into the interview and say that!
It is the last week of before the uni winter closure so I'm trying to write and reference...Zotero of course is crashing ๐คฆ๐ปโโ๏ธ
