Oh yeah I totally get that… but a large proportion of lower income people don’t live in cities. I agree though that we need to build places to live around people not cars - but wishing away the cars won’t make that happen. It’ll take years of subsidised public transport/active travel 1st.
It’s the way it works though… if you limit something either through restrictions or magic, the price goes up and control of access goes to those that can pay. Also no one said just cities, and sure poor people have cars, they are just 10-20 years old not nice new ones.
