π€£ I do like that song.
My first experiences with harmony were magical! I don't think I've ever heard your alphabet song but it sounds great!
It was an echo song and I loved that the music teacher split the class in half to sing it. I can't remember the title, maybe something like He's Long Gone. #the60s
Question #1: What was your favorite song in elementary music classes? #musicteacher #mused
On the opposite end of that spectrum, kids love to play Baby Shark on the recorder! π

So during school or before/after? And is it a volunteer group? Those are other variables too that can make that 8 hours even shorter!
Sounds beautiful!
Exciting! What pieces are you playing?
Truth.

I've been gardening for years and am ashamed to admit I rarely save seeds.
I had a modern band program for middle school. Lots of fun! Good luck getting your instruments!
That's great you're offering it, though.
No but after school activities were hard to offer at my school because of transportation. I avoided them.

Iβd love to join the group!
Those are gorgeous. We're about to get our first hard freeze so waiting for spring. haha
Ukulele was one of my favorite things to teach! You're going to have a great time! Here's the ukulele page I created for my students. I used a chord approach with a few riffs/melodies. There's a dropdown at the top with lots of subsequent pages! oodlesofmusic.com/2021/04/26/e...
Kids love discovering new instruments! What a great project! #musicmakesourstudentssmarter
Here's "Thick of It" and body percussion using 5-line notation for elementary music! Pause the video at the beginning to let your students figure out the patterns themselves. Then play the verse, pre-chorus, chorus song for lots of engaged learning! #elementarymusic www.youtube.com/watch?v=klU1...
Thatβs hilarious! So fun.
So cute! I had a lesson plan using them for a movement activity related to the Olympics and dressage.
Will do thanks.
Just found a super song/activity to end November using beat & rhythm. I always link a couple of my favorite videos in my Monday newsletter and this one's going in! @lisagillam.bsky.social www.youtube.com/watch?v=kBbl... #elementarymusic #fallsongs #elmused #steadybeat
This is such a powerful idea for all new teachers who are trying to make lesson plans that don't have a bunch of disjointed activities. Can you share the warmup? A similar one for me is singing & signing a do and la-based scale every day & after singing a Halloween song, student says "la-scale!"
I've taught in districts that did not offer a scope & sequence and told to use the state standards. Taking the standards for each grade level and unpacking or applying to create a year-long curriculum is daunting.
