I took a no-LLM policy in my class this semester, and explained why to my students. One of them *thanked me* for the policy and another commented that it was the push they needed to swear off AI the rest of the year. Just working with what I can control 🙂

I just saw a call for book chapters about using AI as a “pedagogical partner” to teach psychology.

AI can’t be your partner in teaching, because it doesn’t *know* anything. Teaching is part science and part art — AI doesn’t do either of those parts well.

I was tagged above. While my research area isn’t in this space, my recommendation as a clinician would be to find a neuroaffirming provider (family therapist, psychologist) who specializes in working with autism in adolescence. I think any worth their snuff would be able to help your family out.

I think the worst thing about living in Canada so far is that there's no Diet Mountain Dew here.

They have Mtn. Dew Zero, but that's a soulless beverage for feckless children.

Online discourse in mixed-neurotype environments is hell for autistics because of this. Folks wonder why we aren't "represented" -- it's because we stick to Tumblr and WrongPlanet. Anywhere else (including here) we're piled on and met with the most bad faith disingenuous interactions.

Eastern Michigan University's Counseling and Psychological Services center is hiring a psychologist! I know one of the staff there, and it seems to be a great place to work (with a burgeoning autism program 🙂)

What would your response be to the people who say that AI has shown them material benefit — e.g., the ability to make more money, to have a better work-life balance, etc. I see these personal reports in my clinician communities all of the time. How is it not of material benefit for those folks?
