Humble Re-Calibrating

i’m glad in some ways that i have to “wait” for a reset because it actually helps me get into other areas that i’m not getting all-consumed by ai in otherwise i’m just like this, locking in through the code to the pixel level – i’m learning a lot at a rapid pace thou, from phone to backend, sick!

currently in crazy learning, setup mode! - getting n8n running, weavy.ai, comfyai, openclaw, claude code in the mix – it’s difficult to keep perspective of what is just token munching versus actual tooling that is a benefit, also aggregating nightly trends and building a content creator green room

it’s coming to something when you have to re-order your day around when your llm is going to have it’s “reset” on your plan but hey, that’s where we are and we ramp up as we can afford, bit like life really, you do what you can with what you have. time for tiktok time and a bit of a tidy up! :)

so we are kinda making software in our own image in the way that each of us who can type can ask a question and build ill formed things, that does’nt sounds like it ends well, it’s kinda a road to the bottom if we are all doing it, after the automation, we gotta think much bigger.

sunday is my favorite computer time day because it’s perfect for taking to plan out what you are going to focus your time on. at the moment we are trying to deploy our every day systems because the weather has made that a littler miserable. we are working on it though, lots to do.

just found out the rate limits are in the headers of the api calls i’m doing to x/twitter so i no longer have to have to “guess” how much i can post each day and this opened up the way i think about posting daily “content” now – i’m now implementing “sources” more than just rss feeds. exciting.

having an accountability partner/shadow to the way that you currently function as a human being, us understanding our weaknesses and an ai alongside being the “fill in” gap is powerful, it still requires critical thinking and that’s why i think gen-x are made for this shit. we were born for this.

everyday i think the world is changing into something we never saw the day before, everything, i mean, everything is being reshaped. we gotta make sure we keep the actual bloodlines of things that keep out physical meat-sack bodies alive otherwise we are just brains in a bottle in the cloud.

with opus 4.6 out and if you go to claude.ai/settings/… you’ll noticed that they are offering a “free” $50 of credits, just make sure you set the monthly spending limit to $1 for now until you see how fast it burns through tokens, it’s a little sneaky to turn on extra usage once hooked!

my little vibe coded “watcher” app for my tiny homelab raspberry pi 400 (listen, use what you have) is going great, i’m adding new features all the time of stuff that i cannot be bothered to go check and rather have pushed to me as a warning/reminder. man, vibe coding tools is so rad.

i just used ai to order me some tacos for lunch/later on today, i literally described it to an ai what i wanted, how i wanted it, where the problems might be, it asked me if it wanted to confirm that they did that, i already know they do it so did not do that, i want to see end to end if it works!

i love this so much, safe-now.live, simple, effective, fast loading, valuable information for on the go on mobile/tablet (as long as you have power) just a really smart, simple, effective and useful idea – think i need to start thinking more simple, goes a long way in emergency!

i think you are right there. i've seen that similar thing on github, the amount of "tools" thare are being made that are just crud to capture people thinking it's a real tool, sure they have backdoors etc.

wow! i can’t believe SNDK hitting $640 today, that’s insane, sandisk doing nvidia style moves. i wish in my early teens/twenties i knew about stocks and can only wish we had the tools back then to easily set that up from my mobile phone. ebb and flow with the tide my friends. crazy.

it’s good to see we are moving to a more open/local/homelab frontier, i believe people are burnt out on the ever escalating cost of subscriptions and those things are the first things to fall, people are doing it for themselves at home, i expect ISP will start to put data rates back in at some point

computing is becoming a race to the bottom, an expensive thing to interact with, let’s just remove the “ai” part of running a local inference homelab and consider tech as it comes, even the price of a raspberry pi5 (and new 6) is not accessible like used to be > cost of ram etc. get silicon soon!

best thing a about ai tools for over 50+ ugc people like me is that you don’t have to deal with rude customers, the world is out there and it’s on demand and the people who build systems to be proactive about that and understand how to balance tokens/cost and output times are gonna win!

you can just build things, looking forward to moving my little project onto it’s own little vps and start expanding out, definitely going to hook it up to other things once i can afford but if your looking to improve/change ya life a simple $20 a month LLM package is a good start!

it sucks know i’m the bottleneck now from keyboard/mouse – i’m gonna cheer myself up by secure/hardening a clawdbot on a vps and have a tinker with that as well as everything else the day might bring, it’s taco tuesday baby. firing up all the engines, espresso shortly, got good sleeps. make it so!

even thou we have to navigate the frozen tundra of hoth what seems like every weekend at the moment (and having 21+ inches of snow the last few days) i can confirm that new jersey is the new winterfell. honestly thou, england could never, the sheer optimism and determination is a thing of beauty!

so far so good, half way point, never seen so much snow in all my life, which is a reminder I guess that there is so much more to see in life as well right? fast fibre, a good NJ pizza slice and a cup of yorkshire gold. I’m not surviving as much as I’m thriving, thankful. every. day.
