He/Him. TTRPGs, Miniatures, Wargaming, Left-wing nerd shit.
Sounds like you need to run a Worm game for those Cairn boys. ๐

Even if they're packed with delicious articles, dungeons, and ideas for GMs.
Some thoughts on artificial intelligence [sic] and its perils to tabletop gaming as a medium #osr #ttrpg
05.08.2025 12:33 โ ๐ 108 ๐ 39 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 4I got Knock #5 today in the mail from the @themerrymushmen.bsky.social. It's amazing as every issue is.
I just wanted to specifically call out @evlynmoreau.bsky.social's "Lilfolk" art.
The moment I opened the book I was greeted by these charming lil guys on the dust jacket and squee'd. Perfect.
How to handle information management as a GM. Basically "Landmark, Hidden, Secret" by @diyanddragons.bsky.social
(diyanddragons.blogspot.com/2019/10/land...)
Abolish perception checks. Just give the players information based on their queries and fictional position.
There's a YouTube channel called "Exploring Abandoned Mines" and it's probably the non-RPG thing I get the most consistent inspiration from when designing dungeons.
I put it on in the background when I'm painting minis or doing chores and the stuff he finds and goes into is enthralling.
The quantum daemon's have clearly chosen to exalt you to a numenary place of honour.

Yessss! This is so good. Absolutely my jam.
Well done.
Very slick. These are going to be useful for my upcoming Vaarn campaign. Cheers!

Three bookmarks from Ratti Incantati with rat related artwork and random tables. Rats in all different styles from sketchy to fantastic and bizarre clockwork and esoteric.
Every time I order #osr books from @ratti.bsky.social I am of course excited to get new adventures.
But I am also eagerly anticipating what the latest rat bookmark is going to be. The ratticus artisans are extremely talented little critters.
Yeah, "weird lil guy" came up in an early episode of B2C. Brad had said something like every dungeon should have a freaky lil guy who lives there and loves it for players to interact with.
It's definitely become a meme since then. But it's also great advice.
This dungeon is so good. Thanks for keeping the worm turning.

Ooh. I'm a huge Stygian Library fan.
What have you found to be the issues with running it in Cairn?
(if you feel like writing that up)
My usual hook is looking for a specific book, and using the search mechanic. Which I've backported to Gardens of Ynn, but looking for a specific plant.
What about the six part foray into The Recap's Cauldron, a cheeky lil' amuse bouche?

I've run The Near Moon as a standalone dungeon before. And set a small game in the Three Sticks Lake region.
But mostly I steal items, powers, creatures, and ideas to put into Vaarn so far. Things like 'stuck force'.
I think it's one of the most beautiful and conceptually dense TTRPG books I own. I've pulled plenty from it to include in my Vaults of Vaarn games. Someday I do plan to run a caravan across the whole thing.
08.07.2025 14:18 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I often recommend to people to offer services in trade. Presumably, if you're doing the writing for the game you've got skills in other areas of the process. I've seen and made art trades for developmental editing, proofreading, play-testing, etc.
07.07.2025 04:25 โ ๐ 4 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0The Doomed goes so hard. I love using it as an intro game to get folks into minis wargaming.

Every time I hear about this project I get hyped for it. And the collection of weird lil' guys is getting so wonderful, and terrifying.
End of an era. This was truly a great campaign, and probably the most satisfying delving actual play I've listened to start to finish.
So now is a great time to tune into @3d6downtheline.com because it means you'll be able to follow along with their next campaign! (and have an amazing back catalog)
Congratulations. It's a beautiful cover illustration!
17.06.2025 05:10 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0This is worth 3 minutes of your time. No one wants to eat at a restaurant that only serves bland chicken. (Itโs not about chicken, or restaurants, tho)

I was a huge fan of Witchery in 1.7.10, and nothing has ever scratched that itch since.
Looking forward to checking this out. ๐งน๐ธ
It's important to make this stuff known. D&D is lousy with bad math.
The number of times I've heard of solid gold statues of people being moved by a strong barbarian...
This is also a series you can read over and over again and get more out of it each time. Your second read is almost as revelatory as the first, but you're getting totally different stuff.
Highly recommend the podcast Alzabo Soup after reading it the first time for a deep dive.
That is a sick meat and bone dragon.
