We were just talking about this in the 3d6DTL Discord. It was cool when Mothership did it, but as soon as you see everyone about to get on the same boat it suddenly feels a lot less cool.

If Shadowdark month happens, it's going to tank anything else going at the same time that's fantasy OSR.

Those @themerrymushmen.bsky.social sure know how to make a gorgeous book. Layout is always top notch as well.

Not any super recent systems to speak of, but plenty of recently acquired adventures have been making it to my table. I've run a couple of the dungeons out of Knock #5 this month. I used some of the tools from "Not Enough Scoundrels" in our weekly Mothership game.

I think any attempt to define modern ttrpg 'cultures of play' is a failure if it doesn't classify "5e/critrole fandom" as its own thing largely disconnected from other ttrpg (or analogue game) play-cultures, and instead largely drawing from fandom and fanfic subcultures.

Beetle Knight by @brookletgames.bsky.social arrived today. It's as charming and wonderful as I expected it would be. Special shout out to the included paper minis by @evlynmoreau.bsky.social. Her art style is a perfect match for "lil guys" vibe this game has.

I would absolutely spend my vacation going to Prospero's Dreamland™ Mothership LARP amusement park.

I hear the name every year, but have never looked hard at it. I went to their website, and the tagline is "Gamehole Con is the largest majority RPG gaming convention in the world."
Apparently the 2023 attendance was around 6000.
GenCon is around 70k.
Something doesn't seem to add up.
