honestly, genuinely, if you could speak OK French and do calculus and prac-crit a poem when you were 17 you can definitely still do it today. it will take you a maximum of a handful of months to get back any of those things, and it is really joyful.

This story, from @natezuke.bsky.social, is absolutely wild. A trans woman who never changed her gender marker was issued a letter invalidating her license. At the DMV they cut up her license, which had an "M" marker.

The current argument of the British right is that Muslims turned out in "blocs" with "family voting" to cast their ballots for a party led by a gay Jewish man, and this shows that multiculturalism has failed, voting is "sectarian" and we are in a crisis.

obviously today is a huge embarrassment for Matt Goodwin and for Reform, which is something that we absolutely ought to celebrate, but we must also remember it's a huge embarrassment for Morgan McSweeney and Maurice Glasman and all the Blue Labour weirdos, and that's important to celebrate too :)
Genuinely, I think Labour would have rather the Greens split the vote and Reform won so they could blame the Greens for the loss.
Hopefully Labour now realise that 75% of people don’t want Reform and that the people who vote Reform will not vote for Labour. It’s so fucking obvious. I don’t know why they’ve been doing what they’ve been doing. Congrats to the people of Galton and Simpson making the right choice.
Yep. Since I was a Student Union activist I supported them my entire adult life. Watching the constant chasing of the right and the wilful embrace of cruelty and division has been devastating.
Same. The fall of Labour to what they’ve become is heart-breaking.
What else is there to say but: these people were warned and warned and warned again about this, going back well over ten years and further, and their constant response was: absolutely fuck you, you are all idiots and we are the smart, Sensible people whom understand what the public like and want.
Being a trans journalist is going to work and having to cover how your life is now illegal in your state but also at the same time make sure someone else writes the story so no one can accuse you of being biased and a "trans activist" and then they do the story and you still get accused of it.
