Elementary's Sherlock handles this a lot better imo. You can actually follow this Sherlock's train of thought and understand how he reached his conclusions. His struggles with addiction is one of the main driving plotlines. His relationship to other characters evolves and changes--

Lots of things tbh. The mysteries don't have actual setup or clues that viewers can reasonably follow. Sherlock's anti-social tendencies don't have any real consequences on his relationships. His addiction is played as a joke. Wattson is reduced to a sidekick, etc etc.

Cole's a pretty popular attraction at the local clubs at Rotten Red's Alley. He's in for a long and rough night~

Rewatching Elementary rn. The first few episodes always felt a bit weak to me, but the show does a great job of developing Sherlock and Watson over time. It's probably my favorite depiction of a platonic relationship in media.

Especially compared to the shitshow that is BBC Sherlock.
