Doctor Doctor, currently playing dates in the North, including one at Big Hands in town, the night before they join us on the Caring Stage, with Malcs alumni, Fireblanket. If you’re further out of town, they're playing a free gig at The Ferret in Preston on Thursday night, along with two other acts.

And how. Playing for us on Saturday, before the game against Gainsborough Trinity are London-based garage gods, Doctor Doctor, with the always-valued spoken word back-up coming from Fauzia Agbonhin, a Nigerian-Canadian slam poet and author of ‘I Never Truly Hated You’, a selection of her poems.

This time we’re back like an injury time Fitzmartin winner. At one point we didn’t think we had a band for this week and were considering the nuclear option of a three-pronged spoken-word attack, but Sam has come through again.

... Louise will take to the Caring Stage sometime around 13.50 and Juice Pops will blow your Hello Kitty socks off around 14.10. A football match will break out around 15.00. All times, apart from ‘doors at one’ and ‘the football’ are subject to change. Avoid mild peril, get here early.

... it’ll be great to see her perform the poem on the day FC celebrates the Kick It Out anti-racism campaign. As well as that poem, Louise will be presenting us with work rooted in word-witchery and the working class. Exploring the synergy between poetry and movement....

Our poet for this event is, with no shade of hyperbole, multi-talented and well-experienced. Her most recent act has been to go viral with her poem, ‘I Want My Country Back’, a direct response to the ‘Raise the Colours’ campaign. With four million views across social media under her belt....

The Board will be on stage to take questions about the new fund-raising strategy, Growing the Pie. Originally shared during the recent AGM and expanded upon in their recent blog, it’s an opportunity to explore new ways to fund the club’s future....
