Interesting story. In parts of the world Bee populations are in decline (e.g. the US) and yet California's agricultural economy really needs them for pollination. What's wrong with these townies? I forgot, food just appears in the supermarket ☺️

The day after, after all the haranguing, he eventually but reluctantly appeared to accept the Plea (and the second attorney).
There was a lot of "off the record" discussion, I would like to listen in on.

He also made a good point about his attorney, saying that he was not doing what he wanted him to do. Can I hear you say "they all say that"? He said the attorney was not there when the events being considered occurred, what did he have to say about it?

he could be in civilian clothes at his trial (penned in for the day after). You could hear his "attorney" suggest to the judge that they ought to review this with someone in the jail hierarchy. One small victory for all of them he appeared in civilian clothes the next day.

This was by his brother but those clothes had been "lost". Embarrassing for the judge as other defendants had been criticised for not dressing for court and yet it appears the Jail had interfered. The county jail is not part of this district court judges jurisdiction but he was promised that

The judge really does not want you to do that and there was quite an effort to persuade him not to. Was that legal advice? This chap was at a hearing in a jumpsuit and handcuffs (i.e. he was in county jail). Of course it was all streamed.

There is another interesting case in Texas. There you are allowed to be a Pro Se defendant but it seems to come with caveats - you have to more or less know what an attorney does!
This defendant wanted to be rid of his second attorney, that is rare enough. This was causing quite a commotion.

The Utah case is Tyler Robinson, remember innocent until proven guilty. I expect there will be a lot of discussion about this in the coming weeks

and possibly shackles or at least handcuffs. Is that fair? I think not. At a case in Utah, following an assassination the judge approved civilian clothes art trial. What about hearings? I believe the judge tried to block TV and denied the defendant in person appearance. But is that fair?

What happens at hearings, where no jurors are present, is that if you are in Jail you just appear in your jumpsuit. Times change, since Covid a number of courts stream not only the trials but also the hearings before. Now there's a clash, potential jurors could see you in your jumpsuit! ...

A couple of interesting US legal cases, one being quite famous the other not so much. The US has a proper Constitution and part of that is your right to a fair trial (6th amendment). But what does that mean exactly? One established point is that must appear in civilian clothes at your trial ...

The "Capture" system was the predecessor to the "Horizon" system. It may have had bugs as well. The legal aspects were down to the Royal Mail legal department, although partly split off to the Post Office. Good news something is happening
