It reminds me a bit of what happened to the Japanese giants of the 80s and 90s in the 2000s. Lots of mergers, purchases, and closures, Konami eventually just gave up and left video games, and Capcom and Nintendo struggled for a bit but were ultimately the only ones to make it out the other side.

Usually when Wii games get ported to other platforms, I welcome the option to use buttons instead of waggle. Like Twilight Princess and DKCR.

But in Mario Galaxy, it just feels wrong to use a button for the spin. I don't know what it is, the waggle just feels perfect in this one specific instance.

We live in a world where the narrative is driven by little shits who have mastered the "I'm not touching you!" tactic, and the people with power - the law, the press, even social media moderators - refuse to see through it and call it out for what it is.

I feel like a lot of the toxicity in our society comes from the fact that obviously bad actors find ways to skirt the rules, so they're technically not breaking them, or at least there's room for plausible deniability, and the people in power just say, "Well ya got me there, carry on then."
