A bit of this and a bit of that. Mostly this. Nothing but blue skies from now on... (movies, TV, scifi, fantasy, the natural world, photography, gardening, politics, words, medicine and common sense)

This is so helpful!

Every Saturday, the Big Beautiful Boycott website shows 10 new companies, the reasons why to boycott, and sources if you want to dive deeper.

The more we boycott, the hotter it gets for billionaires and corrupt political players.

I was a bit underwhelmed with Scarborough when I visited for the first time this year. Paying Β£240 for a hotel room in a very average hotel didn't help.
The Texas concert was great though and the crowd were lovely. Still...probably worse places to die. We all die alone anyway...or we want to.

The Smyths xmas advert is a kid finding out what his present is before xmas day? Is that right? I don't get it. Is that his mum with him? She wants him to find out? Doesn't this destroy the magic of xmas morning?

I don't remember if I saw trailers for it. I have Odeon Limitless now so planning to see it again next week before it disappears from the big screen.
It got crappy reviews which is a shame.

Bonfire Night 2025 was record breaking πŸŽ†

Temperatures overnight only dropped to 14.4℃ at Teddington in London, provisionally making it the mildest Bonfire Night on record

The previous record for the night of 5th-6th November was 13.9℃ at Gordon Castle, Scotland, in 1938

Apparently to get Pandora jewellery you don't have to pay. You just pass a note saying what you want. You don't even have to say please.
Christmas perfume and jewellery adverts are idiotic.

If a chemical is too harmful to use here, it shouldn’t be used anywhere.
I’ll be asking the government what steps it is taking internationally to prevent this.

I really liked Tron:Ares
It had a nice 80s vibe with a super soundtrack and great visuals especially during chase sequences.

I should be boycotting U as they dumped new Red Dwarf.
No more scripted comedy they said after Doug Naylor was 2/3 through writing the script. I really enjoyed Promised Land and would have liked to see the proposed script come to fruition. Sounded all wibbly wobbly timey wimey.

Elementary now streaming on U. Can't recommend it enough.
Takes a few episodes to find its footing and if you are dead set against procedurals it might not be for you but I love JLM as Sherlock and the cases are rarely if ever straight forward.

I will be approximately Β£270 in credit by the end of this month & for the 2nd time in a few months Octopus is saying they are going to up my direct debit.
Just stop it! It is stressful. If things start going wrong I will change something. Don't you expect slight negative balance by February anyway?

Anyone who's tried getting anywhere on foot in London should understand this unless they are one of the perpetrators. Increased presence of scooters/bikes obeying no rules. People living in their own bubbles, no awareness of others. He might be adding to the problem though & making things more toxic
