Woody respiration is an important but unconstrained process in the forest carbon cycle. @mariabmills.bsky.social made real progress in Malaysian Borneo using lasers and climbing giants, so that you don't have to! She came away with great insights.

ERIs (like Northern Arizona University) are often in more rural areas (such as Flagstaff, AZ), and are more likely to work with rural communities. Trump is, again, shooting himself (and all of us) in the foot with this. My lab has been working to apply to this grant, as many others were too.
