The relationship between Heathcliff and Catherine is unhealthy, twisted, possessive and ultimately destructive. Not a good blueprint for a romantic relationship, especially as it also bestows a legacy of trauma to the next generation (something else so many people ignore).

I love WH, but so many people distil it to the central Catherine/Heathcliff relationship- which is only part of the book- ignoring Lockwood's haunting at the start and the other Gothic trappings. It's so much more than a "love story" (it's about as much a love story as The Joker and Harley Quinn!)

Lovely pre-Valentine's night out with my husband at Six By Nico Cardiff, with their new menu Lost In Paris. Six tasty, well presented courses each with a twist on classic French gastronomy. The chicken course was probably my favourite, and the crème brulee-inspired dessert was sublime. Magnifique!
