"Eboneen Eboneen, how does the seer work!" I'll go through a short brief on the process of memory capture with the "Seer" camera model. More info on each part will be explained in p.84 in the "Anatomy" section. - Activation of the device (the Aperture Tube specifically) is done via the hand crank. - the scene you point at is reflected upon the Gathering Dish, which redirects the light to the Mother Bead. - the Mother Bead shoots the scene towards the Daughter Bead through the Aperture Tube. - As the scene reaches the Daughter Bead, it is concetrated and "aligned" to be expanded temporarily through the Primary Focal Glass, which sends it through the Binding Mesh to bind and infuse the incoming rays with memory-glass quartz crystals. - Once it's bound, it goes through the Secondary Focal Glass, which "aligns" it to fit the dimensions of the Affixer. - The Affixer, as the name implies, affixes the infused-scene into a Memory Bead. - the Memory Bead can now be safely taken out from the backdoor to be used in a Fixer. IMPORTANT: - It's recommended to take an afixed memory bead to a Fixer within a day of capture, otherwise it can start to warp. - Keep memory beads away from absorption crystals (unless you want to clear the binding) - For imprinted memories, keep the paper away from acidic environments (cirtus mold as well), and from prolonged direct sunlight. Otherwise the imprint will fade. - Patience is key, the average time for a imprint to be fixed is 18 hours. - Imprints get clearer overtime but may lose colour, it depends on the pigment-paper used. - KEEP AWAY FROM ROTTEN LEMONS !! No refunds of any kind if I even SENSE citrus mold on your imprints. "Where can I buy pigment paper Eboneen?" - Imagewrights usually have them, if not, ask your local librarian.

The structure and purpose of each main par): - Mother Bead: Made out of the same material as Memory Beads. It can temporarily store a "scene" as forms of reflected light using mana. - Gathering Dish: The M.B. itself cannot fully capture a scene, the G.D. functions as an amplifier and for light redirection onto the M.B. (Usually made out of insulated brass) - the surface of the G.D. has tiny holes that connect to the absorption crystals box. - Absorption Crystals Box: Contains tiny grains of absorption crystals. It's used to clear (absorb) the trace amounts of residual light that on very rare occasions gets "stuck" in the M.B. - Alchemical Fixer: acts as a battery that, when rotated, activates the Aperture Tube. - Aperture Tube: Filled with low gas, it both acts as a bridge that guides (withdraws) the light rays from the M.B. to the Daughter Bead, as well as an insulator from the A.C.B.'s effects. - Daughter Bead: Acts as a temporary stop for the light rays/scene and an "attractor" from the M.B. - Focal Glass: The Primary Focal Glass enlarges the incoming scene and sends it to the Binding Mesh. - Binding Mesh: a lattice made out of memory-glass quartz shards and copper; binds and infuses the incoming scene light from the D.B. (only) to allow affixing. (It is easier to allow infusion/binding to happen if the light becomes scattered, hence the reason for the P.F.G.) - Focal Glass II: The Secondary Focal Glass shrinks the scene back for the Affixer. - Affixer: Affixes the final infused scene to a Memory Bead. - The Alignment Clamps are used to make sure the incoming scene from the Affixer is aligned with the position of the Memory Bead. - Operation of the device requires miniscule amounts of mana for activation, as it already contains energy, it merely needs a jumpstart. - Absorption Crystals and the Alchemical Fixer need regular maintenance and replacement. - Similary, the Binding Mesh and the Motehr Bead a well, but can generally last much longer.

Kaleim's Vision - MPD (Mana-induced Parallax Distortion) - MPD is a form of double vision caused by chronic overexposure to high mana sources, such as quartz crystals, Primios fluids, and generally any mana-infused aersol. - Certain alchemy and reactions can create mana-aersols; semi-reactive particulates that bind to the inner layer of the eye. (in-setting, it's only known that it "infuses with your vision" and not the actual microscopic workings) - The body can only metabolize or flush a very small amoun. Chronic accumulation and exposure may lead to misalignment of perceived light paths. Symptoms: - Double vision (True Parallax; non-neurological) - Ghosting around the edges of high contract objects. - Difficulty reading fine script - Nausea, Headaches, and Vomitting. - in servere cases, the person may see an object from "different angles" at the same time. This can be mistaken for hallucinations. - Blindness Susceptible: - Alchemists, Quartz glass blowers, Metallurgists, Scribes working with Rune Ink, among others. Treatment: - MPD can be treated as long as it hasn't progressed to the point of near blindness. - The treatment usually makes use of an Arcane Eye. - The patient looks into the Arcane Eye, as it reads the distorted vision. - The Eye then adjusts its inner lattice to align with "normal vision" (usually by calibrating it prior) - The patient looks into a specialized assortment of objects meant to calibrate the vision, while at the same time, the eye "looks" in the same direction at the objects from the exact same angle, and adjusts accordingly. - Once the Eye finishes calibrating, it emits a controlled pulse into the patient's eye to shift and rearrange the small shards that have fused with the inner layer of the patient's eye. - The double vision does not disappear, but overlap preciesly with the actual vision of the patient, thus "fixing" the problem.
