I have always supported Union labor as part of my cultural heritage and political responsibility, but living in PGH for 10 years, I have gained a much deeper respect for the courage and sacrifice it has meant in the US just to be a part of a labor movement. It’s an easy thing to take for granted.

No idea, but it seems most often to be because they felt bullied or excluded, and lacked the tools or guidance to get help and express their pain without violence. As noted, almost all mass shooters are cisgender men. Less than 1/4 are diagnosed with mental illness. Almost none are trans.

Clearly I’m not an expert on this, but I think bullying and social exclusion was thematic in male shooters. I would expect no less when the shooter is trans. Kids that are hurt try to hurt others, sometimes with guns. I don’t know what to do to help, but hurting and excluding more kids ain’t it.

We had great male role models. I’m not sure where we got lost, but Mister Rogers was the kind of man I hoped to grow up to be. When I fall short of being good and kind, his example is the reason I know it. Deeds, not words.

Turns out you can indict a ham sandwich, but only because they’re incredibly unpopular. Hoagies are much harder to indict. 🙃

Good question. The vast majority of mass shooters are cisgender males. How many until we start to treat those identities as causal, or even just correlated? nij.ojp.gov/topics/artic....

Unspeakable tragedy. Also shattering for trans kids. The shooter’s ID is unrelated (beyond mental health, possibly), but will be the bullies’ battle cry. I ask decent adults to be anti-bullies, and protect those they can from the coming ignorance, and blame leveled at the trans community.
