How exposed is Southeast Asia’s energy supply to the Iran war - who is most vulnerable and what’s next? Rising tensions in the Middle East have exposed Southeast Asia’s growing reliance on imported energy and are testing the region’s economic resilience, say experts.

Excellent overview of the consequences of the Israeli/US attack on Iran on energy issues in Southeast Asia by @cna-poster.bsky.social. The stubborn irrationality of Southeast Asian countries increasingly relying on fossil fuel imports as a strange phenomenon

Why Tesla "Robotaxis" Won't Be Driverless For Another 3 Years Deep dive into FSD crash data shows incidents becoming more dangerous for Tesla owners, while Tesla's Austin robotaxis already crash 4x more frequently than human drivers.

Why Tesla robotaxis can't go driverless:

-4x more likely to crash vs humans
-3x more likely to cause an injury crash vs humans
-FSD knowingly runs red lights/drives the wrong way
-Tesla can't explain why
-Regulatory strangle: 1000s of new FSD crashes found

Iceland locks in on date for EU referendum | Euractiv As a member of the European Economic Area, Iceland is already aligned with much of the bloc's legislation

Just announced: Iceland has urgently moved up its referendum to join the European Union - to 29 August.

A reminder: 🇮🇸 is in many ways already a non-voting 🇪🇺 member because of the EEA. This would give them voting power to shape the laws they have to follow.

NEW ANALYSIS: UK emissions fell 2.4% in 2025 as coal fell to a 400-year low. Incredibly, we used less coal last year than than in 1600, when Queen Elizabeth I was on the throne and Shakespeare was writing Hamlet.

Over 40% of global shipping by volume exists to move fossil fuels from one place to another.

A huge share of the world's maritime infrastructure has been built around a system that is going to change dramatically as renewable energy and electrification displace fossil fuels.

If journal chief editors build a community around their journal, getting reviews will not be so difficult. The core of the community is other editors (should appoint many), the editorial board (should be large), and people who publish in the journal (make them register and commit - upon submission).

Trouble finding reviewers is mainly because journal editors do it the wrong way. 1) Have a big editorial board, and make sure all members do reviews. 2) Anyone who submits to the journal and especially who is published there, should do reviews. 3) Screen articles before sending for review. Etc, etc.

Is Donut Labs Battery Lithium Ion? - CleanTechnica Support CleanTechnica's work through a Substack subscription or on Stripe. A claim was made in a youtube video by the internet handle Ziroth. Before we get deep into this, I need to explain lithium-io...

A response to Ziroth here that takes issue with the inferrences Ryan draws.

In particular, a sodium-ion battery could also have a similar voltage curve to NMC li-ion and the VTT tests of the Donut device.
