Broome might be one of the most polished basketball guys the Sixers have drafted in a while
True hooper. Understands game inside out. Footwork. IQ. Handles. LOVE this pick
Spent some time scouting Tre Johnson a glimpse into what I am prepping for a Sixers-centric NBA draft preview
22.03.2025 15:19 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0FRESH OFF THE PRESS: Read about how Quentin Grimes is the connective tissue between Maxey and modernizing Philadelphiaβs offense
hoopsandharmony.com/2025/03/01/q...
Sixers are +13% in transition frequency off a live rebound with Grimes ON (100th percentile)
Has some Josh Hart qualities as a guy who pushes off misses and punishes defenses off the break
Things to really like about Jared Butler
1. Great screen navigator. Leverages angles to get by defenders to rim
2. Comfortable operating off the ball as a smaller 2 attacking space
3. Crafty finisher at the rim extra gear to get by bigger defender
4. Court vision
Notes on the Grimes trade
1. Eliminate the Caleb-Oubre redundancy on the wing
2. Sixers needed another high volume C&S guy not named Eric Gordon
3. All in on Yabu at PF when Jo returns which is very good news
4. Grimes is a + POA defender. Sixers generally struggle to defend quicker guards
Dove into what I think makes Justin Edwards a viable piece for the Sixers now (and as a future starter)
hoopsandharmony.com/2025/02/04/w...
Sixers have morphed into a really good cutting team in 2025 hoping this continues with 2 ball-stoppers back soon
A lot of good off the ball stuff recently
Ricky Council is 3rd on the team in transition points (90) and is averaging a 13% foul rate off drives for his career
For context 13% equates to Giannis foul rate this year
Edwards and Bona are both showing some capacity in that area
29.01.2025 15:30 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Tyrese Maxey registered 21 drives vs LA last night (average 14 per) scoring on 90% of them with a pass rate of 38%
This is optimal Tyrese balancing the scoring with a bit more creation + shot selection
Edwardsβ presence has clearly unlocked better playmaking out of Maxey late. Moves without the ball quick enough trigger to play off Tyreseβs gravity
Not as high on his defensive upside but signs of a rotation piece are clearly there
Maxey + PG + Justin Edwards lineups (no Embiid)
β’ 110 possessions
β’ 147 pts per 100 HALFCOURT possessions (100th percentile)
Sixers +10.6 pts per 100 TRANSITION poss with Edwards ON (98th). +4.3% frequency in THREES (87th)
Adem Bona with the defensive range to cover the LaVine blow by from the backside
Should be getting a ton more minutes on the wing and as a PF. Makes the Sixers defense exponentially better on film and in numbers
Sixers allowed 18.2 PTS added per 100 transition possessions against Denver their worst output since 2016 (vs Cleveland)
Biggest ON/OFF culprits this year Edwards (+3.0) Gordon (+2.4) Drummond (+1.6) Oubre (+0.8)
Watch Adem Bona move in space, tag the roller and close out to the 3 point line with balance and range
Fantastic game last night on both ends

I was more focused on the help at the rim stuff. Heβs gonna struggle against these guys out wide but that is now where he makes his impact defensively. Thought him and Oubre had good possessions off each other defensively
26.12.2024 16:32 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Embiid is looking increasingly more mobile defensively flashing range and help D at a high level yesterday
Sixers opposition -11.6% in rim frequency with Joel ON (100th percentile)
Tyrese Maxey is showing significant improvements off the ball trending up in ASTD% for December
For context ~ 41% is the positional average for point guards
Opponent RIM accuracy goes up by over 2% with Yabu at C as well which is in the 21st percentile for bigs
Philly has very limited answers to survive non-Embiid mins / games
Itβs been really cool watching Jared McCain develop counters around the rim that includes a series of pump fakes + change of direction dribble
Strength and balance a huge component to his success vs a physical Magic team
Heβs benefiting from good spacing I wonder if good teams will play him differently knowing heβs becoming their main source of creation
