I just realized I forgot to finish my thought earlier, so now it looks a little random

She's too fat to fit under the couch anymore, so she LOVED the tree as her new little hidey spot.

She does not like to be looked at.

* Stay away from ciprofloxacin, kids.

4 antibiotic pills 5 years ago completely destroyed my body and killed my mobility.

I guess this is a dual PSA. Destroying your tendons can end your life long sewing career.

A black cat hanging out in a space themed pop-up tent.

5/ Gandalf (or "Gandoof"/"Doofie"/"Doofus") is TERRIFIED of it.

Her brother Panthro is ALL ABOUT IT, though.

Elrohir has also been in there to check it out, but haven't gotten a pic of him yet

Anyway, yeah. I'll be measuring from here on out, LOL.

A kid's pop-up tent that's designed to look like a space ship.

4/ Guys, I've been sewing professionally for almost 35 years now.

A meter is a lot longer than I eyeballed. This thing is CRAMMED IN THERE.

So consider this a sewing PSA: ALWAYS MEASURE.

Just look at this ridiculous thing, lol

3/ We bought a ridiculous rocket themed one, because of course we did. It was that or dinosaurs, and there was DELIBERATION.

Anyway, it was listed as being a meter across, so we figured that had to be perfect. Had to be smaller than the tree, right?

So we ordered it, it came in today...

2/ We finally took it down last week because it was getting to the point of considering just leaving it up all year.

So we decided to get a pop up kid's tent to put in that little corner, as we're too lazy to wash and set up the Kitty City they've had for almost 14 years now.

A fat grey cat curled up on a too small cat bed, glaring at the camera.

1) Well I haven't been sewing, because my tendons haven't been great lately.*

But hey, I've got a sewing- adjacent post to share.

Gandalf has been giving us big dramatic guilt trips over taking her Christmas tree down this week.

She's too fat to fit under the couch anymore...

Oh, I'm not saying they were competent at it.

But he's so into wrestling culture, that was absolutely the first thing that came to mind when it happened.

They enclosed him, he popped up "wounded", did the whole first pump and chant.

It felt so planned.

It's when a wrestler hides a razor blade on them to cut either themselves or the opponent during a match.

It's worked out who/when/how ahead of time to hide the act as much as possible, and it's just done for effect.

They aim for spots that bleed a LOT.

So him with the ear? Yeah.

I did work for pro wrestlers for years.

Blading/juicing. That's my bet.

Here's been on WWE many times, is friends with the CEO and his family, and had Hulk Hogan go full Idiocracy for him on the campaign trail.

The whole thing reeked of it. The standing up, first pumping, USA chant...

So, know I'm working towards publishing more sewing tutorials!

It's just that "working towards" means "Loading up on A-535" and "physio", moreso than actually sewing!

Several pieces of pink and lavender stretch mesh on a sewing table. A multicoloured design drawn on the front bodice pattern piece for a skating dress.

Just realized it's been almost exactly two months since I started a project that would make for a really cool tutorial ... and promptly hit a massive tendon flare through my left arm.

Kinda makes sewing spandex ... well, impossible.

So, hello!

This account has been mostly dormant, partly because I'm still working on transitioning off X and Meta platforms, and partially because my arm tendons haven't been great lately.

Just say no to Cipro, LOL!

Anyway, wanted to pop on and say I've got more tutorials coming soon!

Scrambling to disentangle from Meta properties, after yesterday's nonsense.

This account will be for my spandex sewing/costume blog.

@celebrationgen.bsky.social will be for food stuff & recipes from all four of my food blogs.

@2nerdsinatruck.bsky.social is my RV camping blog, with my husband.

I shared Mark Zuckerberg's WILD video about censorship to my personal Facebook account.

This happened minutes later.

Literally none of those rules apply, btw.

Popped back into Twitter for a minute, to see a dumpster fire of Americans cheering about defunding the WHO.

I really hope that they don't come to find the answer to their "Why should the USA fund it?" question the hard way.

There is something wildly ironic about the fact that ableism is going to bring back polio..

I'm not sure. They start in early 2023 and go back from there, though.

My feed had been completely emptied, aside from one post I made after the fact.

Well, this is super fun.

I had 60k+ tweets, so I had to pay for a plugin/app and it was a big hassle to delete all of them, but I did. I posted a single tweet to say I was done and moved to BS.

Today, I see that a bunch of my old tweets are back up.

WTAF.

Wondering if it's happened to others

The video with that punch remixed to "Blue Monday" is my happy place.

I mean, literally to the point where hearing the first few notes of that song on the radio will now bring a smile to my face.

It's downright Pavlovian.

I will never understand how so many people are so completely unable to recognize really bad AI when they see it.

Like are we at the point where masses of people are actively, completely detached from reality, or...?

(Yes, this post is about more than the AI)

See, I need something with lyrics, otherwise my brain just makes really weird remixes of the ear worm + the ambient/instrumental.
