It’s #FindsFriday!

This week our curator was joined by work experience student Auden, who spotted this lovely Romano-British beaker base from Farningham Roman Villa. We 3D scanned and printed it—now we can share replicas at schools & events without risking the original!

A lovely late Roman Knife Handle found at Bifrons Anglo-Saxon cemetery and part of the Kent Archaeological Society Collection held at Maidstone Museums.

Hunting motifs such as this one are a common site throughout the Roman Empire!

We have this lovely paw print in our Romano-British villa excavation at Trosley which we believe may be a badger paw print!

Its one of a number of paw prints and signature marks we have in the CBM assemblage, with more information to come in due course!

KAS he ARG are pleased to present our annual fieldwork forum, this year taking place at Lenham Community Centre on Saturday 21st March. The forum this year is focused on the practical process of on-site recording and is open to KAS members and non-members alike. Tickets are priced at £10 for KAS members and £15 for non-members. Tickets have been priced to cover room hire and physical materials required for the successful running of the day. The Archaeology Research Group (ARG) is pleased to host its annual Fieldwork Forum on Saturday 21st March 2026. The event this year will be aimed local archaeologists in need of guidance and information concerning best practice in site recording. There will be a chance for attendees to undertake an indoor practical lesson on section drawing*.
