For me, music is just something so integral to my existence that I cannot fathom the concept of not liking music at all.

And so many of my other pleasures are connected to music (movies, games, etc.)

This is a good way to summarize my general feelings. I like drawing when the mood strikes, but to do it because I have to kinda sucks.

I can't say now exactly what it was that alienated me from the idea that I ever wanted to treat drawing as more than just a hobby, but I'm happy I chose it.

Like, mad respect to people who do art as a career. I'm happy for them and all, but I just don't think I'd want that if possible.

I used to doodle a lot when I was a kid and I remember at some point someone asked me if it was something I wanted to do when I grew up (as a job).

At the time, I remember saying that I didn't want to do that.

As an adult now, I am so thankful for that decision.

Comparing "Say Uncle" and "Yes Daddy" to each other is so funny to me because I drew my first comic for funsies and did not take it seriously, so when it blew up it caught me off guard.

I was a lot more intentional with the second one lol

I'm reading some studies that suggest a positive correlation, but the problem I'm noticing is that they seem self-reported and lack the use of a control group (ie students using it vs students not in otherwise similar curriculums).

Now that I'm off work, I can clarify a particular problem I have with implementation: as far as I'm aware, there are no studies correlating GenAI use with positive educational outcomes and that single fact alone should kill that industry's use in schools.
