I'd also say that GenX + boomers are still 40+% of the population, they experienced an actual increase in violent crime, particularly in cities, and never adjusted their priors. Also the rate of crime shown on TV is ~ the same, even setting social media aside.

These people lack any understanding of what actually has made America great. Manufacturing isn't being re-shored. The indiscriminate immigration crackdown is kneecapping growth, both now and in the future, by making America unattractive to the top talent in the world.

This is plainly true, and you can tell because the policy is completely incoherent otherwise. They have no other concrete aims that would lead to a coherent, even if extremely wrong or misguided, outcome.
