i want to make it clear there's nothing wrong making a good part of your life what you already have online, i also wouldnt give away what i have here and solely live offline. the problem becomes when you start neglecting the life that the internet is meant to compliment, but cant replace.

acknowledging what you dont have and doing nothing about it is going to eat you alive. online communication and what we can build for ourselves with it is wonderful, but it can't replace reality. you still have a physical body you have to feed and take care of outside of it.

i reckon im just a dumbass who went to a psychward once and is now acting like i opened my third eye or something (no i was always this pretentious actually) when i still have a lot i struggle with. im not judging ppl for what they lack, i dont see the point in criticizing that...however solely-

hurt and discourage you from living. bringing change isn't easy but if you decide not to make change then of course things will continue to suck, worsening even. nobody likes to deal with ignorant people in power but hiding away and withdrawing is literally bringing everyone down with you...

i understand the world, especially right now, can be really scary and intimidating and a lot of the time it feels like it's better to escape from it, but constantly escaping it just...can't work. sooner or later you'll have to deal with the world and if you're not prepared for it, the more it'll-

im not gonna pretend everything from that time was bad that's being unrealistically pessimistic but, im not sure how to feel about how bad it pushed so many people into being terminally online. people have become so attached to their online personas they dont think its worth living reality anymore.

this is classic internet discourse im aware its been like this since its inception but i feel like that became so much worse in the last 5 years when covid lockdown happened. it's why im not rly proud of who i was during that period like man that shit really did a number on everyone everywhere huh.
