Did I pet the deer in Miyajima? You bet I did. They are so chill, nothing phased them, not even school kids dashing past.

I was early, one of the first people in for the day. It wasn’t long before the place got soooooo much busier.

It stunning! I wanted to hold onto that moment as long as I could.

We didn’t have time, sadly. Next time we’ll stay longer and make the hike.

We visited Miyajima Island, and its profound morning beauty made me tear up.

Half the time I see a large billed crow, it’s got a goodie. This looks like a piece of karaage to me.

I just now sketched some for the first time because I’m in Japan. I logged in to bluesky, and saw this.

😢It is really sad to see adorable birds dying because of the reflection on windows, so I made this illustration for some bird protection organizations to propagandize this situation.

Does anyone else compulsively say “hrududududu” when a particularly noisome vehicle drives by? Or just me?

I gotta have some levity for the dark and difficult times. 💙 I hope your experience was as helpful as mine was.

The scene is Split View with a line of churninh water dividing the composition in half. Two wolves, one above water, the other below, appear to be fighting. The face of the wolf above water is hidden, only an ear is visible and the rest of the face is buried in, possibly sinking into, the opposing wolf. The underwater wolf is clearly agitated and struggling against the weight pressing him beneath water, keeping him from lifesaving aid. His teeth flash and eyes flash in a snarl, his features surrounded by frothing bubbles.

"Intertidal", the trapped and mirrored self—the anxious oscillating energies of apathy and panic.
