Encroaching Thunder

I sketched concepts to visualize how I feel about the scent of my Deep Animal blend. It’s soft perfume and crisp spice, elusive and comforting like sun warmed fur or feathers.

embarrassing myself

A young gryphon sitting on green clovers. One back foot is raised and he eyes it with glee, beak open in big grin, green eye alight with youthful joy. His wings are spread, the feathers still growing in with feather sheaths at the base. His tawny fluffy coat is spotted like a lion cub, his feather tips are dark, his ears are tipped with tarp pointy tufts. His toe beans are on full display.

Awesome! I love that paper for value studies in colored pencil and gouache.

They kinda are. I do draw frequently in sketchbooks, it’s just scattered across half a dozen “active” books at a time! Different books with different purposes.

They are awesome! I’ve only watercolored on the thicker papers (see first two photos to see how it warps) and the nova series takes gouache nicely. I did a series of gouache and gold watercolor bats on black nova paper that held up beautifully.

I don’t have enough experience with markers.

They are my favorite and I have the urge to collect them all but I’m (barely) keeping it in check. I particularly love the Alpha series.
