With the Nebula and BSFA nominations open, I’d be honored if you’d consider my novelette, “We Begin Where Infinity Ends,” published in @clarkesworldmagazine.com. It's a story of friendship, love, and fireflies✨🪲

Story day! “O Mechfighter, O Starsinger” in @lightspeedmagazine.com is my epic space opera about lost ancestry that’s trying to be revived between a human trafficking survivor who sings to the stars and a soldier grappling with her complicity in war: www.lightspeedmagazine.com/fiction/o-me...

Very loaded month, as I have two short stories coming out from @lightspeedmagazine.com @nightmare-magazine.com that could not be more different. Space opera about lost cultural history vs horror about existing

New story out! “Dad went out to Get the Milk” in @LightspeedMag is a fantasy piece about the costs of being an absent yet ‘providing’ parent, while also dealing with monsters from other worlds. Tune in if that’s your thing:

I have a story out in Lightspeed this month that’s about…wanting your parent to leave you alone after they finish fighting monsters, so you can play on your Nintendo?

Don’t ask me too many questions

They Bought a House - Nightmare Magazine The idea for this story began in my final week at the Clarion Writers Workshop. I wanted to write a haunted house horror story using stripped language, but unsurprisingly, it became strange and detail...

New story day! “They Bought a House” in @nightmare-magazine.com is an unhinged haunted house set in Benin city. There are ghosts making ccoconut rice, there are people living in walls, and most importantly, there is Nothing 🤗. Read here: www.nightmare-magazine.com/fiction/they...

The Revised Version Issue five: short fiction by Osahon Ize-Iyamu

Story day! What if Jack from Jack and Jill was used for rice + chicken? Or Mary’s little lamb was used for efo riro? “The Revised Version” is all about cooking nursery rhymes, but also the weight of family responsibility. Read here: theorangebee.substack.com/p/the-revise...

SPOILERS but I think there’s such an interesting parallel re: Remmick in Sinners and the Peoples Temple aka ‘Jonestown’ irl. Charismatic leader promising Black people that freedom can only exist in the confines of death.
Where are the essays on this or do I need to open laptop?
