I don't blame the practitioner because they weren't provided any tools at all and at least tried to help me.
I did end up finding some of the thought exercises for getting out of catastrophising spirals and grounding myself somewhat helpful, but for many they aren't at all appropriate.

It's awful. 3 of my family needed help and got either nothing or had to go private.
I asked for help managing ADHD and got CBT with a 'practitioner' who didn't even know what it was. They gave me printouts of articles from ADDitute Mag and an overwhelming amount of 'homework' I couldn't deal with.

We shouldn't have to run in circles trying to do this to protect our works copyright when it should remain enshrined in law. The law should be expanded to protect us not rolled back for the benefit of tech bros.
