IMO this is what the Oscar Wilde "all art is useless" thing is referring to.

In its purest form, art isn't made for a practical use, such as selling it for money. You make it because you feel like making it. Full stop.

So if you want to make something, do it. For yourself.

It's a palpable loss to us as individuals, and as a society, for us to stop doing creative things just because we're not in the top skill or popularity percentages of people who do them.

We don't do ourselves any favors by thinking stuff we create has to impress or sell to have value.

Good: When a game deliberately gets silly or dumb because it's more fun for the player.
