After she finished and left the podium, Omar told reporters, “As I said, I’ve survived war and I’m definitely going to survive intimidation and whatever these people think they can throw at me because I’m built that way.”

FIFA can end this by saying it will only do games in Mexico and Canada. But a handful of Republicans in Congress can also end this because part of their job should be to make sure we don't aren't crushed by authoritarianism.

Man Arrested at Sundance For Racially Motivated Incident at CAA Party
A man was arrested at CAA's Sundance party after he declared he was proud to be "white" and allegedly punched a person of color.
Last night, I was assaulted by a man at Sundance Festival who told me that Trump was going to deport me before he punched me in the face. He was heard screaming racist remarks as he drunkenly ran off. The individual was arrested and I am okay.

Sources identify man shot as Alex Jeffrey Pretti of south Minneapolis
The man fatally shot by federal officers in Minneapolis this morning has been identified as Alex Jeffrey Pretti, according to sources familiar with the investigation.
Pretti, 37, has an address listed in south Minneapolis.
At a news conference, Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O'Hara said the man who was shot was a 37-year-old white man with no serious criminal history and a record that showed some parking tickets. Law enforcement sources said Saturday their records show Pretti had no serious criminal history.
The Strib has identified him. Alex Pretti. Another 37-year-old executed for standing up for our immigrant neighbors. For shame.

I told the White House the state must lead the investigation.
Let state investigators secure justice. As we process the scene, stay peaceful and give them space.
The State has the personnel to keep people safe – federal agents must not obstruct our ability to do so.

Minneapolis Police Chief O'Hara: "The video speaks for itself. We have identified this person - 37-year-old, white male, resident of the city. The only interaction that we are aware of with law enforcement has been for traffic tickets and we believe he is a lawfully gun owner with a permit to carry"

Two days ago it was Elissa Slotkin. Last week it was Jerome Powell. Before that, Mark Kelly. Weaponizing the justice system against your opponents is an authoritarian tactic.
The only person not being investigated for the shooting of Renee Good is the federal agent who shot her.

Trump officials eye private security contractors to safeguard oil assets in Venezuela | CNN Politics
The Trump administration is preparing to use private military contractors to protect oil and energy assets in Venezuela rather than deploying US troops, according to two sources familiar with the plan...
"Still, multiple private security companies are already jockeying to get involved in the US presence in Venezuela [...] Interest is high given the potential payday; during the Iraq War, the US spent some $138 billion on private security, logistics and reconstruction contractors."
